E M E L – NOBEL PEACE PRIZE CEREMONY

Rate this post

Kelmti Horra, meaning “my WORD is free,” is a song in favor of freedom, a song that was taken up by Tunisian revolutionaries and young people everywhere searching for hope, dignity and self-determination in an increasingly difficult world.

Inspired by the anthem, the Nobel Peace Prize Committee invited Emel Mathlouthi to perform it live at Oslo City Hall, during the Nobel Peace Prize Ceremony. First-ever performance of a young musician at this solemn and historic ceremony; first-ever performance of an Arabic-language piece at the same.
